Money Matters

If you have a body, you'll want enough money to keep it healthy.

If you have feelings, you'll want enough money to feel at peace and happy.

If you have thoughts, are they very often about money (some good thoughts about money, some stressful about money)?

If you have a spiritual self, it is best served when the physical (body), emotional (feelings) and thinking selves are content.

Although money may not buy happiness, it can often support it.

Mindfulness Heals Denial

Being in Present Moment Awareness, experiencing Mindfulness, (through meditation, journaling, being in nature, making art/music, anything that truly brings you into this moment), reduces stress, increases joy.

Stress is an inside job, your perspective, your Internal Map of Reality (IMR).

Want to know the steps to re-framing your Internal Map of Reality (IMR), breaking free of denial, and reducing stress, and increasing joy?

Resiliency – The Key to Success

I teach a course in child homelessness.

I am re-reading some materials on this issue. How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character, by Paul Tough (I love that his last name is Tough and he writes about Grit)  demonstrates that success is possible no matter our circumstances.

According to those who study success, resiliency is key.

Obstacles Becoming Your Path

Finding lasting joy, success and inspiration are wonderful goals. However, what most of us don't take into account is that it's not about reaching the goal, the mountaintop, that holds much of the potential for inspirational change. It is the journey or steps involved, the moment to moment sense of wonder the leaks into our very being.

When you read a good mystery novel, or watch an exciting movie, is it the end that holds your interest? Certainly getting to the end matters, but what holds your interest? It is the events leading up to the final outcome, the clues and explorations that help unravel the mystery. The moment by moment excitement the builds to the final outcome.

In your life, what holds your interest? What excites you? What final outcome will your journey bring you to? What mountaintops call to you?
