The Possibility Detectives are dedicated to inspiration and transformational change.

Happiness, Relationships, TransformationIt all began in the summer 1976. Jan and Neal met at a mutual friend’s party, and their journey began. The next day they shared a canoe down the Charles River in Boston. Jan was tired from the heat and strain of many hours of rowing and wanted to have a more leisurely return trip. Sticking out her thumb as if to hitch-hike (a common mode of travel in the 70’s and 80’s), she and Neal were picked up by a small pontoon that happily towed them back to the canoe rental shop. Neal claims he knew that she was someone he wanted to spend more time with. Jan was impressed that he was able to go along for the ride. Thus began the journey of a lifetime.

After a couple of years, Jan and Neal decided on different individual adventures. Neal went to Lesley University (Cambridge, MA), Jan to Putney, VT. In 1995 they reconnected…for the first of many encounters. In 2001, with the stars fully aligned, they harmoniously became the couple they were meant to be. As it turned out, both were passionate about traveling around the world, holistic psychology and the human ability to manifest dreams.

Dr. Neal, Dr. Jan New Year's Eve, Relathionships, Marriage, CoachingJan and Neal were married in 2003. They have traveled to the jungles of Ecuador, the mountains of Peru and Tibet, the rice fields of Bali, and other wonderful places to meet with shaman and healers. They created and now teach within the holistic psychology major at Lesley University, offer national workshops on their work for psychotherapists and life coaches, and they find the time to be part of the West Coast Swing dance community (Neal teaches West Coast Swing dance, Jan joins in when the spirit moves her). The couple says they are ambi-dancesterous, meaning either partner  can lead and follow — a good thing to be able to do in dance and life.
