Golden Roller Coaster of Life

letting goYou are riding the Golden Roller Coaster of Life.

How is that going for you?

Are you spending most of your ride in fear, eyes shut?

Or are you present with whatever is happening, even fear and the wildness of the experience?

Closing your eyes to the present moment doesn’t take away what is real in this moment – not the happy moments or the ones that we struggle to avoid. Struggling to avoid sadness, anger or fear only pushes those feeling down, eventually coming to the surface with more force than their original energy.

What brings you simple abundance and happiness?

Sometimes we are forced to slow down and keep things simple; most of us appreciate this momentary retreat from the complex lives we’ve created.

Understanding and Accepting Bad Habits

If you are like most, you have had least one long standing bad habit that you have vowed to change unsuccessfully many times.

The cycle of continuing in a bad or problematic habit can feel endless, can create an internal environment of shame and guilt which leads to more of the bad habit.

In his book, The Wisdom on Insecurity, Alan Watts wrote: The question, "What shall we do about it?" is only asked by those who do not understand the problem. If a problem can be solved at all, to understand it and to know what to do about it are the same thing.
