Transformation

Healing Rituals

We unconsciously, or consciously, perform rituals throughout our days, throughout our lives. At birthday parties we make wishes while blowing out candles, without letting anyone in on what they are (otherwise they don't come true, right?). At weddings we exchange vows and rings to seal the deal. At graduations we wear special garb and celebrate transitions.

In Tibet, and elsewhere, we hang prayer flags asking for good health, love, abundance and peace (for ourselves, our family, our community, our ancestors).

Although we often participate in rituals as a community, there is power to reach your dreams and goals in solitary healing rituals.

Rituals bring our intentions, dreams and goals to the surface; rituals help keep our attention on what we'd like to manifest.

Learning to say ‘No’

How you spend your days, is of course, how you spend you life.

How are you spending your days?

How would you love to be spending your days? This day?

Are you constantly experiencing FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) which leads you to spend more time with people and in situation that don't match what you want? (See blog post on FOMO vs JOPMA.)

Do you find yourself always making excuses for why you are canceling or rescheduling meetings, dates or appointments that you never wanted in the first place?

Learning to say 'No' to what doesn't bring you happiness is indeed learning to say 'Yes' to what does lead to greater joy in your life.

What do you want to say 'Yes' to?

What Are Your Possibilities?

1) What is your greatest vision for your art (or work, or relationship, or life)?

2) What is a step you can take towards that vision?

3) What might get in your way?

4) How will you get support? (Not just emotional support, but the tough kind that keeps you on track, keeps you moving in the direction of your greatest vision, your dreams and goals). And, I might add, how will get support to move away from people who not only drain your creative juices but your spirit as well?

Forgiveness: Is it Always Right or Required?

Learning to forgive has changed my life. No one was more surprised by this change than I have been. Forgiveness allows greater compassion, peace and joy.

I began this journey into forgiveness when I was designed a course, The Psychology of Forgiveness. The main message of the course was how mindfulness can become a gateway to forgiveness.

What would your world look like without the anger, resentment and self contempt that not forgiving (yourself or another) creates?

What would your world feel like with greater movement towards your life dreams and goals? This is what forgiveness allows.
