VisionHaving 20/20 Vision  (Psychologically Speaking)

“Good morning.  It’s a new day.”

Imagine for a moment (10 minutes, really) that you are in charge of making the world a safer, friendlier place.  What would you change?  What would your made-up world look like?  Seriously!

This is what I woke up to the other morning.  Nicholas, my most curious younger brother said this to me on my way to the bathroom, even before I had time to brush my teeth and wash my face.  He then said it to me again during breakfast, and again when we both came back home from school late this afternoon.  He wouldn’t let it go, so I had to respond.  I told him that I would seriously think about it, and then asked him why was this so important to him today.

He said that it was the most important question that each of us had to ask ourselves because our answers would provide us with a guideline of what our purpose is for our lives. He said that if each (or at least many) of us did this that the answers would be helpful to know and the effect of moving toward our collective vision would be amazing/alive/exciting.

He then talked about how the usual use of the term 20/20 vision happens in regard to our eyes seeing more clearly with eyeglasses, contacts or surgery.  He suggested that a more insightful use of the term could be cultivating the clarity to answer the question that he raised and then living a life that pursued that vision.  So 20/20 Vision becomes the phrase/symbol/rallying cry of people listening to their own answers to this question, of people following their own inner guidance.  WOW!  What a lot of faith we would need to have in order to really believe that each of us has the natural inclination and intelligence to want to make the world a safer, friendlier place, as well as the personal strength/power/will to live that vision.

It would be a new vision.  We would be psychologically clearer that way.  And this shift could happen by the year 2020, which is only 6 years away.  Nicholas really believes that this is possible. That together we could create a “New Day.”  He says that whenever he says “Good morning. It’s a new day”, this is the message that he is trying to send to people.  He is reminding us that a “New Day” is possible, is within our reach, if only enough of us really want to make it happen.

Please take 10 minutes and then let me know what you come up with.  I told Nicholas that I would help.  Please help us.  Become part of the Psychological 20/20 Vision quest.
